Museum

Interpretive Guide 

 

Term

8-week position, 35 hours per week

Tuesday through Sunday, 9am to 4pm

Anticipated Start 

July 9th, 2025

Rate 

$20/hour

Details

This position is partially funded through Canada Summer Jobs and is open to eligible applicants who are students aged 18 to 30 and are registered to attend to courses / school in the fall of 2025.

 

The Friends of Fintry Provincial Park Society has an opening for a full-time interpretive guide at the Fintry Estate manor house and barns. The employee will receive hands-on work experience and job training in museum/heritage-site work and research pertaining to the Fintry Estate’s history.

 

Responsibilities include 

· leading and helping with museum tours and programs;

· taking bookings;

· helping with museum events, lectures, educational programming and outreach;

 

The guide will greet visitors, help with administrative tasks, manage the museum gift shop and work with staff and volunteers in museum projects and research. Weekend work is required.

 

Because the job requires driving to and from the Fintry Estate, the guide will receive $25 per work day to offset the travel cost. This is an ideal opportunity for a student in history, museum studies, education or ecology/zoology who’d like to gain practical experience in their field.
