Finding Your Zen with Happy Art

by Local Okanagan Artist Nancy Vince

Before becoming an artist, Nancy lived on a hobby farm and created an award-winning garden on the coast which has given her much inspiration for her whimsical artwork.

After moving to the Okanagan, she became a caregiver to her mom and needing some “me time”, attended a “Zen” doodling class at the Vernon Community Art Centre. She discovered a whole new world of “happy art” which she creates on illustration paper with pen and alcohol inks.

Her work is full of bright, beautiful colors and she loves to have the viewer look for things beyond what is plainly visible.

She is an ACNO member because it makes her part of an active artistic community. She believe in artists having the opportunity to share friendships, to learn, to work, to display, to teach and to heal.
