WYLIE

Shannon Wylie was born in Vernon, BC in 1962.  She received her Fine Arts Diploma (with Distinction) from Okanagan College in Kelowna in 1983 and her Visual Communications Diploma (with Honours) from Medicine Hat College in 1985.

Shannon has exhibited around BC including a February 2024 solo show at the Coldstream Art Gallery in the Coldstream Community Hall and has an ongoing solo show at the Fig Bistro in Vernon. She had an article about her work published in the Federation of Canadian Artists Summer 2024 issue of Art Avenue magazine. She is an award winning member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Okanagan Artists of Canada.

Shannon lives and works as a full time visual artist in Vernon. In addition to acrylic landscapes and animals, Shannon is known for her pastel pet portraits.

Shannon recently illustrated a book called “Something to Crow About in Jasper National Park” by Kelowna author Daphne Rowed Richard.  Shannon’s soft pastel paintings of a young crow named Rocky illustrate his adventures as he and the author grew up together in Jasper National Park during the late ‘50s and early ‘60s.  Shannon will have copies of the book available at Fintry Fusion.
